Title: Rondeau Provincial Park
Post by: thouc on March 15, 2010, 06:56:15 PM
The ice is almost completely gone from Rondeau Bay and there were plenty of waterfowl. Lots more further out that I couldn't identify.
Tundra Swan 300
Mute Swan 2
Canvasback 1000
Redhead 500
Common Merganser 30
Greater Scaup 10
Gadwall 4
American Wigeon 1

On the lakeside
Red-breasted Merganser 7
Killdeer 2

At the visitor centre feeders:
Tufted Titmouse 1
Red-bellied Woodpecker 1
Am. Tree Sparrow 20
White-breasted Nuthatch 1
Black-capped Chickadee 2

Lots of Grackles, Robins and Red-winged blackbirds around in the park and on the way there.

This evening there was a displaying Am. Woodcock at the visitor centre. A very nice treat.
