Post by: mr.sharp-photo on March 16, 2010, 05:43:47 PM
beware the Snides of March.

spent some time at the Brickworks today.

some of the ponds were frozen in the morning. by late afternoon, most of them had thawed.  seen at the Brickworks:

-red-tailed hawk (1 or 2 flying above)
-muskrat
-pair of kingfishers who were VERY active
-2 canada geese
-2 mallards
-a small handful of red-winged blackbirds
-heard some cardinals
-MAY have heard a pileated woodpecker (hard to know above all of the construction noise). i saw two there last spring (they left after the spring) so i may have to see if they're back where i saw them
