Title: Compton Tortiseshell Algonquin Park
Post by: Brian Bailey on March 18, 2010, 09:30:05 PM
Visiting Algonquin Park today, my most notable sighting was a Compton Tortiseshell at the parking lot of the Spruce Bog Trail.  It was very active:  in a couple of minutes of watching, it only paused for a few seconds for me to get a look at it.

It was a very mild day, but it's still looking pretty wintery here, so seeing a butterfly was quite a surprise!
