Title: Leslie Spit - when can we go there this weekend

Just wondering if anyone knows when we can go to the Leslie spit this weekend?
Can we go on Good Friday?
I assume we cannot go on Easter Monday.

I found this info:

Tommy Thompson Park is open to the public weekends and holidays, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year?s Day. Operating hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from November to March and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from March to November (coinciding with daylight savings time).

Is there really a problem of going there on some other time? The only difference I have noticed is that the parking lot in side is locked. I doubt if you keep to the normal areas and dont go into the restricted areas, anybody would be bothered.


Anybody had any experience otherwise? I used to live close by sometime back and was a regular visitor. Have stayed overtime a lot of times.

Meghan: is Friday considered a holiday? its not a stat holiday, but i assume that there won't be any city workers working.

Niani: there are city workers that work at the front gate. so you technically are tresspassing if you don' obey the signs. plus there are trucks that go down the main path. i guess that if one avoided the eastern shore area (where they are still actively dumping) then one would be fine.

Good Friday is a stat holiday, but Easter Monday is not.  Banks, schools and government offices will be closed on monday.

I have been corrected by a retired banker:  Easter Monday is not and never has been a bank holiday!  :oops:
