Title: Sunburnt and windswept
Post by: Napper on April 04, 2010, 07:40:54 PM
Wow What a weekend!

We spent our weekend up in Tiny Township. I think the weather this weekend was better than at any time during  Last July or August.
people on the beach on both Friday and Saturday, some actually tried the water

Unfortunately there was a fire ban in effect. No camp fires or burning in general.

We are all a little crispy from the sun.  Last evenings windstorm brought a bit of rain, surf action with noise and this morning a group of Jays   It Started off pretty cool,  had to turn the heat on this morning but by 3:00 pm it was another gorgeous day (was warmer up there than down here).

Today we had

Eastern Phoebe calling in the trees moving all around us
Blue Jays
Chipping Sparrows
Northern Flickers
Cardinals
Chickadees (at the Feeder)
White Breasted Nuthatches
Robins
Crows
3 Cormorants flyover
1 Merlin flyover
Song sparrows all around
Downy Woodpeckers
an Elusive Pileated Drumming within a block of our place.

We got home and all the feeders are empty, one on the ground from the wind I assume. How bad was the wind  down here?

No time to hit Tiny Marsh
