Title: Chimney Swift
Post by: Bluffs Birder on April 05, 2010, 08:50:47 PM
This afternoon while walking along Kingston Rd just east of McCowan Rd in Scarborough, I looked up to see a lone Chimney Swift flying towards me.  I couldn't believe my eyes, it was only about 50 feet above me and flying westward.  It might be a local bird there as I've seen many in that area the last 2 seasons.  This warm weather sure is messing things up...or this bird over-wintered, if that's possible.

Wow, that's exceptionally early!

You should post it to chimneyswifts.org (http://www.chimneyswifts.org/).  On their map (http://www.concentric.net/~dwa/page188.html) (updated Saturday) there were no reports beyond North Carolina.

That's exactly what I thought Brian.  Thanks for the website, I sent them a report of my sighting.
