This morning BIGFRANK and I met up at 7:00 AM and did a few go-rounds of the park before the weather turned lousy with cold wind and rain, we were gone by 9:30. Anyway, a pretty good morning with 36 different species being seen including a few new surprises.
Canada Goose
Mallard
Long-tailed Duck
Bufflehead
Red-breasted Merganser
Common Loon - 2
Red-necked Grebe
Double-crested Cormorant (numbers increasing daily out on the Lake)
Sharp-shinned Hawk
Killdeer
Ring-billed Gull
Iceland Gull
Caspian Tern - 1
Rock Pigeon
Mourning Dove
Belted Kingfisher
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Downy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker (several individuals flying over the park)
Eastern Phoebe
American Crow
Tree Swallow
Black-capped Chickadee
White-breasted Nuthatch
Golden-crowned Kinglet
American Robin (200+ in small loose flocks flying over the park)
Gray Catbird - 1
European Starling
Song Sparrow
Dark-eyed Junco
Northern Cardinal
Red-winged Blackbird (continuous mixed flocks flying over the park)
Common Grackle (continuous mixed flocks flying over the park)
Brown-headed Cowbird (continuous mixed flocks flying over the park)

Again, another cold and windy morning at the park. Most of the birds seen 2 days ago were still around, the new arrival today was a single male Yellow-rumped Warbler.
