i may go grebing on tuesday

Those are three nice looking Grebes you got there Denis. Your Horned Grebe came out really good considering the not too good shooting conditions with the very choppy water.
It was nice meeting and shooting with you that day maybe Hall`s rd in a couple of weeks.
I checked out your Astro shots, Amazing!!!

Excellent shots Denis ... colour me green.
-
thanks for the kind words everyone.
steve: we,ll do,hall,s for sure.ospreys are back in town here, and got some real nice flight shots, this morning.i,d like another early morning chance at the horned grebes, also,as i,m not happy with these.

Just Beautiful! Especially love that red eye on the horned grebe.
-
thanks.
appreciate it.

Wow, that western grebe is really something. I'm actually a bit surprised a pied-billed grebe hasn't shown up in the pond, which would have made that a four grebe day. :)
-
thanks greg.
actually,there was a pie-billed grebe there,but too far out,for a shot.

Denis,
That's a great shot of the Western Grebe. If you haven't done so already, you should submit a rare bird report (http://www.ofo.ca/obrc/reportform.php). The Western Grebe is on the review list (http://www.ofo.ca/checklist/south.php) for Ontario. This is probably the same bird that was in Port Credit last month, but I don't think anyone got a good photo of it there. I think it was only seen well out from shore. With Sam Smith Park being such a grebe magnet, I wondered if it would show up there, but your sighting is the first I know of.
