Thanks all, I had no idea how colourful this little guy is ...

I saw two of these in Chinguacousy ravine in Brampton. First sighting for me as well. Does it mean something that this spring several of us are seeing these for the first time?

Really great shots Colin ! Saw one (first ever) on two occasions at Humber East ... last Sat. and the week before. Almost missed it since the back looks similar to a Downey. Sure have incredible crimson head and throat !

Thanks all...all the bird books I have say that these little guys are everywhere to be found but for me I never saw on in Toronto till this one...based on my birding skills I am sure I just missed seeing them lol.

Awesome shots. Way better than the one pic I posted in my posting at bird sightings... but at least I saw one today, a first ever for me!

Thanks Rob, I was lucky I brought my camera to get a pic of a Mockingbird but I did not see him that day and found this guy instead...
