Post by: Iain on April 18, 2010, 02:31:39 PM
Located the Western Grebe (originally posted by Denis) feeding with a group of Red-necked Grebes just southwest of the boat docks in the main bay.

Also present in the 'bowl':
4 Yellow-rumped Warblers
2 Pine Warblers
2 Hermit Thrushes
1 Eastern Phoebe
Song Sparrows
White-Throated Sparrows
Chipping Sparrows

Thanks for showing me to the location Iain. My pics were fair considering the the showdows caused by the sun's position. Nice meeting you

I was there mid-afternoon yesterday postering for next Sunday's park clean-up (http://outdoorontario.net/birds/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=19699#19699) but the grebe was already gone.  I did manage to find 4 swallow species:
Tree
Barn
Northern Rough-winged
and Purple Martin
plus Field Sparrows, Yellow-rumped Warblers, and Hermit Thrushes.

Checked again this evening, but again no sign of the Western Grebe.
