Post by: Halton Hills on April 21, 2010, 10:24:56 AM
.

Had my first White-Crowned Sparrow at the feeder this morning.

Always nice to see them arrive with their funky helmets  :D  .......and to hear their nice call.

Title: White throated sparrow
Post by: Margaret on April 22, 2010, 09:21:18 PM
Supper time tonight I saw my first white throated sparrow of the season, he was on the ground with the goldfinches - good to tell the nijer feeder needs refilling! The goldfinches and house finches have been eating up a storm this week.
Pair of cardinals and several mourning doves around and still one junco.
Here in  Brampton I've heard the white crowned sparrow but not seen him.
Florida birding the first week of April in the Panhandle area was the pits (very few migrants) tho' I did have one or two good finds. I'll post under Birding areas.

Tonight I had my first of the Season/Year/Forever :D   A very shy bird. I first saw it on my neighbours fence and then it moved over to my fence. It was sort of acting like a chickadee.  I hope I see it tomorrow morning before it moves on.
