Title: virginia rail.

well another day,another rail.
this time i had the pleasure to observe 2 of these beauties,for 20 min., or so as they fed along the marsh.

Wow!  Great shots and great luck getting them out in the open.  I usually only get fleeting glimpses in poor light before they retreat back into the cattails.

Great series of images, I have never been able to get decent shots of these guys let alone see them in the open much:0 have a great wekend

Denis, I thought your Sora pics were great, but honestly these far surpass them - incredible shots.  I haven't even seen a Rail - good for you!  P.S.  I still don't have my lens back.  Can you hear me crying?

i feel for you not having your lens! i moved to whitby,so am only 5 min away,and yes i was there every day this week,so am getting familiar with the species,and their habits.

must of been at the right place at the right time.i think luck plays a big factor,along with stealth,and bush smarts.love your gallery,especially the raptors.
