Title: Birds of the metal kind
Post by: Margaret on April 22, 2010, 10:11:00 PM
I know many of you like to watch the big birds at Pearson Airport.
While in Pensacola, Florida, hubby and I were visiting Fort Pickens and were treated to the full display by the Blue Angels Team. Their home is the Naval Air Base at Pensacola and the pilots practise their display manoeuvres twice a week- great thrill. Of course hubby really loved it, and the Naval Aviation Museum too.

Sounds really fun! The Blue Angels were at the Toronto Air Show this past year.  They wont be here this year or in 2011 though.  A the Warplane Museum in Mount Hope, the Canadian Aviation Expo is on next weekend on Sat. and Sun.   The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will be there as well as the local planes, like the Lancaster, and you can even take a flight in a Cessna plane via the Brampton Flying Club.  I was at YYZ (Toronto Pearson Airport) last month and I saw:

Emirates A380
British Airways 767-300
KLM B747-4
Air India 777-3
Lot Polish 767-3
Korean Air Cargo B747-4
Air France A340

Hey there Cody - Snowbirds won't be in attendance.

Should be a good little weekend to see a lot of interesting planes.
