Title: Great Horned Owl and... @ Thickson Woods
Post by: Rob'in'To on April 24, 2010, 09:52:45 PM
We went to Thickson Woods this morning (April 24th) and were so thrilled to see a Great Horned Owl, in full view, sleeping in a tree.  Awesome!  I caught a decent pic of a Tree Swallow flying right towards me as well...  not bad for a Canon Powershot (so I think).

I want to thank all the helpful people on this board for sharing tips and locations.  You all rock!

@Scott-we may of passed each other in the woods! Lovely area, did you see the Winter Wren? A very nice birder pointed him out to us and the Wren came out in full view for us and entertained us with a song! It was the first time Rob and I have seen one.

Yes, you may have passed us.  Apparently I don't look like much of a bird and nature lover.
