Despite a rainy start to the day, when the clouds broke, the birds started to show.  We had several nice surprises this morning including a fly-by of a Great Egret, a Red-bellied Woodpecker which visited the park a couple of times, and our first Catbird, Bunting and Oriole of the spring.  Sparrows were almost entirely absent today.

Here is today's complete list;
Canada Goose, Mute Swan, Mallard, Long-tailed Duck, Red-breasted Merganser, Common Loon, Double-crested Cormorant, Great Egret, Turkey Vulture, Cooper’s Hawk, Killdeer, Ring-billed Gull, Rock Pigeon, Mourning Dove, Chimney Swift, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Blue-headed Vireo, Blue Jay, American Crow, Tree Swallow, Bank Swallow, Black-capped Chickadee, White-breasted Nuthatch, Carolina Wren, Winter Wren, Hermit Thrush, American Robin, Gray Catbird, Brown Thrasher, European Starling, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Black-throated Green Warbler, Chipping Sparrow, Song Sparrow, White-throated Sparrow, Northern Cardinal, Indigo Bunting, Red-winged Blackbird, Common Grackle, Brown-headed Cowbird, Baltimore Oriole, House Finch, American Goldfinch, & House Sparrow
