Title: Robins eating Sunflower Seeds
Post by: Cody on May 12, 2010, 07:34:22 PM
I have noticed this strange behaviour for the past month. I have had this Robin coming under my sunflower feeder and eating fallen seeds. At first, I figured that it was eating insects that were there until tonight. Tonight I saw it up close on my deck eating Black Oil and Stripped Sunflowerseeds. This is really strange. I also saw the robin eating suet 2 weeks ago. I can tell that it is the same bird because of the large puffed up fur on its head.

I have had robins hanging around under my feeders, eating both seeds and fallen bits of suet. I've even seen robins landing on the suet cage and eating suet. This usually happens when the ground is still hard and cold.
