Last fall this grackle was visiting my backyard, feeding on birdseed fallen on the ground and it was one of the birds with no head feathers as mentionned on the forum .
This year its back and now bearing unusual feathers.

not sure what they are called in birds but when a human has damage caused to their hair follicles they grow back grey or white so i am wondering if there was damage to the feather follicles and it grew back in white as well?

Irene,
Thanks for your response.
Yes something unusual happened to cause the white feathers also the bird is not accepted by most of the other grackles and has to avoid being in too close .
