Title: Chatham Prison Break
Post by: thouc on May 19, 2010, 10:33:49 AM
This morning at 8.30 about 150 Chimney Swifts escaped out of the chimney at the Chatham prison. Amazing, I have never seen them come out of a chimney before. There must be crowded down there, but if Santa can fit in a chimney, it wouldn't be a problem to fit 150 Chimney Swifts :)

I also had a singing Alder Flycatcher, a lifer for me, only have had an unidentified Alder/Willow before. Singing Carolina Wrens and Swainson's Thrush round of the list of interesting observations.

Title: Birding is illegal?

I didn't realize you could got nabbed and thrown in the hooscow for birding. How long of a stretch are you doing upriver? Guess that makes the rest of us an undeground society of guerilla birders. Now about the jailbirds...okay I'll stop. Thanks for the report. I don't think I've ever seen 150 Swifts in such a concentration.
