Title: Thickson Woods: quiet today, but still interesting
Post by: mr.sharp-photo on May 21, 2010, 09:37:30 PM
I was there from noon until 3. not a lot of warbler activity at all. i MAY have seen the worm-eating warbler, but it flew before i got a picture.
there was a patient american redstart or 2 near the front entrance (inside the woods). some baltimore orioles showing interesting courtship dances.

a nice gentleman pointed out today's surprise - a whip-poor-whil sleeping on a log.

i also saw (and photographed) the scarlet tanager and you could hear the flycatchers making a lot of noise.

*edited* thanks walter (pardon the brainfart)
