Title: Song of the Yellow-bellied Flycatcher
Post by: Andreas Jonsson on May 25, 2010, 03:41:01 PM
Does anybody know of a good handle for the song of the Yellow-bellied Flycatcher? It's not on the the Birding by Ear series and it sounds very much like the song of the Least Flycatcher to me, a little less abrupt perhaps. Any tips how to separate the two species by song would be appreciated. Thanks.

right, they are similar, chelek for yellow-bellied vs. che-bek for least
As is often the case, solid knowledge of the common species is your best tool for recognizing the presence of the less common one.
