Anybody know of a place in and around Hamilton where I'd stand a good chance of spotting an eagle?
Preferably close to the 403, if at all possible. I know they frequent a lake there in winter...
Thanks in advance

Try going to Princess Point. You may catch one flying over the water fishing. Last year there was an Eagle Nest in this area

Also, Beamer Conservation Area on the Niagara Escarpment in Grimsby has a Hawkwatch from March 1-May 15. Bald and Golden Eagles fly over here sometimes.

One of the best places I have found to see eagles are at the Woodland Cemetery - Gardens Rd., behind Royal Botanical Gardens Headquarters. Drive past cemetery buildings into cemetery, bear left (south) toward Hamilton Harbour. They usually sit in the trees along the escarpment edge there.

Thanks for the responses folks. I appreciate all the help I can get. All the spots you've suggested sound promising.
Happy birding

Good luck!

I observed an adult bald eagle about 2 weeks ago. It was flying over the Lake Ontario shoreline just east of Jordan Harbour.

How far off shore was it?

It was over the shore, probably right over the beach, I could see it well from the QEW.
