Title: So was it worth it??
Post by: MEGHAN on June 12, 2010, 11:20:28 PM
That's the question I was asked when I made it home Friday night.
A 17 hour day, 5 ticks..that I've found   , and 57 mosquito bites...yes I counted.
So was it worth it they ask? I would have to say absolutely!! :D +
Thanks for looking
Meghan

Meagan,
Terrific action shots!  Some of the more interesting and unusual photos I've seen posted this spring.

Thanks everyone, I'm glad you all enjoyed these photos.
It was a long wait between feeding, about 45 minutes, but both the male and female would return at the same time and then wait turns to feed the young. I was hoping to catch both of them at the nest hole, but after 8 hours without this happening I decided it never would  :D
But it was still an awesome day. One I will never forget.

Nice shots! Did you spend 17 hours photographing these birds?  Your lucky that there are not too many Ticks where you were. There are alot here in Grimsby.   Where was this?

Fabulous! It's hard enough for most of us to get snaps or even a sighting of a Pileated Woodpecker. But you went the extra mile and brightened our day with these great family shots. Thanks for your perserverance. Well done!
