Title: 3 hours of wandering around some Meadowvale Parks
Post by: Bird Brain on July 25, 2010, 01:39:08 PM
Hi everyone.  This morning from 8-11am, I was wandering around the following parks:

1.  Maplewood Park (East side of Glen Erin Dr., just North of Aquitaine Ave.) ... Cooper's Hawk babies x 4.

2.  Lake Aquitaine (SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Aquitaine Ave., behind the Meadowvale Community Centre) ... Canada Geese - lots, Grackle x 1, Gulls - lots, Mallards - lots, Red-winged Blackbirds - lots, Sparrows - lots, Starling x 1.

3.  Plowman's Park (runs South from Battleford Rd. just East of Glen Erin Dr. to Montevideo Rd.) - this park is between Lake Aquitaine and Lake Wabukayne ... Blue Jay x 1, Crows x 2, Sparrows - lots.

4.  Lake Wabukayne (NE corner of Windwood Dr./Glen Erin Dr., behind condo and school) ... Cardinals (m&f) - lots, Mallards - lots, Robins - lots.  One tree on West side of lake had 30 Robins on the branches - a great mix of adult and juv.

Perfect weather this morning:  cloudy, windy, comfortable 20-23c.

Jo-Anne  :)
