Title: BCNH - Brickworks
Post by: Niloc on July 31, 2010, 06:53:14 PM
There are a few short logs floating in the north pond at the Brickworks, the pond near the water overflow drain that comes off the path, anyway there are some great photo opps for the BCNH as well as the GBH as both of these birds favour this perch...

good capture.
i was there on friday and saw 2 BCNH and one GBH. he BCNH were hiding close to the reeds and weren't within photographic range. one of the BCNH is VERY petite but doesn't look like a juvie.
these guys will be there for a while (until the GBH possibly kick them out).
but with the extra tall vegetation, i think it will be a great summer/fall to see herons at the brickworks. lots of places for them to hide and fish. lots of rewarding shots of them flying as well
