Title: Great Blue Heron, High Park
Post by: dbellilo on August 08, 2010, 11:10:59 PM
Hello again, good folks...
I am posting these mainly because they are so amusing. Not terrific shots, exactly, but you should get a laugh or two out of this nasty fellow. Brazen and bold this heron surely is! First he flashed me like a true parkcreep, and then he flew up into the tree and barked and growled at me. But I didn't take umbrage; instead I blew the bird lots of kisses and told him that I loved him the most!
Herons and egrets aplenty, this time of year; it makes me miss the winterducks less!
All the best to you all,
David Bell

Hi there...
He was 10 ft. away from me in the first shot, and about 12-15 ft. over my head in the second...

It's totally what he looks like!!
Even the Perv look in his eye is spot on....(not that I know a whole lot of perv's and what they look like  )

David

This is my favorite GBH shot this year.!!!
Great shot.
I'd love to catch one in this cooling off/drying off pose.
I think I'll have to head over to High Park again.

Thanks, Meghan!
It is hard to feel gloomy when looking at a flashing heron!

You should enter that in a contest. There must be one for photo or birding humour. A sure winner.
Great shot David

Truly hilarious and I would agree he sure does look like a flasher, I can't stop giggling.

I love when birds do unusual things and that is most unusual!

Great shot

Want to buy a watch real cheap?  These are hilarious - great catches.

Thanks kindly for the kind words, folks...
I'm glad the first shot has amused everyone as much as it amused me.
I got incredibly close to a different GBH today (two feet away, no jokes) but he didn't do anything creepy or strange...
