Title: Colonel Sam Smith Park August 11th...
Post by: bernie2112 on August 11, 2010, 09:23:03 PM
Greetings!

Had a nice walk at CSSP today. Saw a Willow Flycatcher, a small flock of Vireos (Warbling and Red-eyed), Yellow Warbler, Goldfinches getting drunk on seeds, Eastern Kingbirds feeding their young. I also flushed a GBH (oops) and there are the two Red necked Grebes in the marina (no young sadly).

In the pond were three juvenile Hooded Mergansers, Mallards, and the like. Lots of RWBB young and Grackles.

The park is at the foot of Kipling, south of Lakeshore Blvd, from the QEW.

Cheers,

Bernie
