this morning at Humber Bay Park East, I saw this bird, had NO CLUE what it was..thanks to Clemens for the ID, never seen a mocker in flight or with the wings spread out so this was very cool.

Irene, I think the mocking bird spreads it's wings to scare the bugs on the ground to see them move and catch them when they scatter. Very neat to see them hunt.

Clemens, the ruckous he made was amazing, I almost thought he couldn't fly or was injured..was very strange indeed.

Nice catch Irene. I haven't been to Humber in some time, but do remember the Mockingbird usually being there. Only seen him singing away in a tree though :)

Thanks for the kind comments, I find it funny how we see a particular bird in a certain way all the time and then they move....*gasp*...how dare they? and then don't recognize them,
like you Moira, I have always seen them sitting in a tree happily singing not fluttering about attacking berries!

Definately pops with the berry.
I loe finding birds doing something unusual...you seem to find them doing that alot...
