Title: Great Egrets
Post by: Brian Bailey on August 21, 2010, 01:46:27 PM
Yesterday evening, while paddling the lower Humber River, I counted 11 Great Egrets rooting in the trees on the east side of the most southerly bay (where the cormorants nest).  That section of the river is a reliable place to see egrets, but I've never seen that many together there.  I assume this is post-breeding birds moving south.
