Title: RFI - Halls Road
Post by: JW Mills on August 25, 2010, 08:53:04 PM
I'm planning on visiting in the next week or so and am unfamiliar with the area.
Any info regarding parking, trails, hot spots, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

After you turn onto Hall's Road, keep your eyes on the fields and trees to either side. A bit further than halfway down there will be a small parking area on the left. There is a short trail to a viewing platform, where you can do some spotting. There are also feeders at the parking area that attact a variety of birds. Drive a little further down to a second parking area. There is another short trail leading to another viewing platform, again with some feeders around. The trail also splits off to the lakeshore where you can do some additional spotting.

Of course, if you going to Hall's Road, you can also park in the main parking lot for Lynde Shores just a little bit eastward. A bunch of trails head out from that lot.

just a tip to hungry birders:
if you want a great place to eat when birding at Thickson or Hall's Rd, go to Buster Rhino's. Its a block south of Victoria (a block north of Thickson Woods) on the NE corner of Wentworth and Thickson.
