Post by: Bird Brain on August 27, 2010, 04:06:34 PM
Hi everyone.  Went for a wander around Lake Wabukayne this morning between 9:30-10:30am.  Sighted the following:

Canada Geese - a few ... West end of lake by the dock
Cardinal x 2 (1m, 1f) ... West end of lake by the dock
Caspian Tern x 2 ... East and West end of lake
Great Blue Heron x 1 ... East end of lake by dam (close to Erin Mills Pkwy.)
Mallards - lots (dozens) ... East and West end of lake
Red-breasted Nuthatches - lots (dozens) ... could see and hear them all the way around the lake!
Spotted Sandpiper x 2 ... East end of lake by dam (close to Erin Mills Pkwy.)

Could hear a Belted Kingfisher at the NW corner of the lake but didn't see him/her.
Could hear a Hairy Woodpecker at the North side of the lake but didn't see him/her.

Lake Wabukayne:  NE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Windwood Dr., behind the condo and school.
