I live in Cheltenham, about 20 K northwest of Brampton. Our property is on the Credit River. To me, a sign of spring is Mergansers on the river when they are starting to move north. Well, this morning, there were 3 Female Common Mergansers on the river. I know this winter everything is downside up with birds etc. and I know they winter on the lake, but still nice to see them.
Reading with interest the post from Amherst and Wolfe Islands, as we are hoping to head there this weekend.
Good birding
