Beautiful and crisp shots as always :)
did you happen to see any young grebes around? I was there yesterday and "thought" i might have seen some but when I walked around to the boating area they had disappeared, I'm thinking the gloomy weather and the threat of rain made them hide for cover.

Nice shots John.  Really like the grebe.  I haven't been in that neck of the woods for months - long overdue for a visit.

Thanks everyone!

Irene, I didn't check the inner waters at Sam Smith. I took a walk out to the point and back. I only saw 4 adult Grebes.

Very nice shots.
And yes, it's a Hooded Merganser on the rock.

Thanks Cody and Thomas.

Sorry Irene, I put Merganser in the title but forgot to label the pic!
Her bud, I believe, is a Black Duck

I think the other duck is a Mallard, male eclipse, the body doesn't look dark enough for a Black Duck.
