Title: Interesting Turkey Vulture
Post by: Cody on September 07, 2010, 08:01:56 PM
I was getting off the Westbound QEW yesterday at Bartlett Road in Grimsby,  when I noticed an Adult Turkey Vulture perched on a sign just on the off ramp. Below it on the ground was a freshly road killed raccoon.

Pictures would have been amazing here but extremely dangerous as there is no where to park on the side. This was very odd too because this is Red-tail territory, and it is often a Red-tail sitting on the sign, not a TV.

I have seen Turkey Vultures flying just a couple meters away from me and at very low altitude at Beamer, but never this close while perched.   The bird showed no hesitation of the cars exiting the highway.
