Title: Babies being fed!

This afternoon I had 2 young cardinals being fed by mother while dad stood guard.  Seems very late in the season for feeding even for a 2nd or 3rd brood.   I thought this was strange until moments later I saw a Goldfinch doing the same feeding its young.   Again September 9th seems kinda late for this feeding activity!  Comments?  Cheers Terry

Not sure about the cardinals, but I know goldfinches breed very late (to coincide with various seeds)

The young goldfinches were doing a lot of begging in my yard on Tuesday (September 7).
