Another good day at Hawk Hill in High Park today. I was there only from noon to 2pm, but during this period many different species were seen including Osprey, Bald Eagle, Northern Harrier, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Bread-winged Hawk, American Kestrel and Merlin.
Most birds were migrating at very high altitude so correct ID was sometimes challenging. To start with we had 20 km/h winds from the N, but at about 1.30pm the wind turn to a weak S wind, after which the hawk migration died down almost completely.
