thanks all.
john:1/4000 sec for the stopped wings,and 1/2000 sec for the other.shot at f/ 5.6 with 7-D/400 MM combo,ISO 800.
you basically have to crank the ISO to get enough shutter speed,and usually with the lens wide open.
