Title: Warbler Madness

I'm not sure about the rest of the newish and not so new members, but warblers always seem to be confusing..so many little warblers and so hard to ID
I found this website, not sure if it will help anyone but it does seem to be interesting reading and for someone like myself who has little experience with warblers quite helpful (just an extra resource outside the bird guides)

LMAO Axeman I remember last year when I was new to this list ..and I was teased about the warblers..and they are still confusing! I will try to ID one..then someone will say are you sure its not a goldfinch? then I sit there and think "was I mistaken?"
They really make you think, I just told the hubby I was going to name them all Warbler.jpg and hope that someone will ID them (if they are kind enough lol) and pray they are correct too.

There is a page in my Peterson field guide...devoted to a group called "Confusing Fall Warblers"....which always left me confused...b/c...well do they get confusing in the fall but aren't at any other time of the year or...do we only see them in the fall and they spend winter, spring and summer elsewhere or...and ummm...you know what else confuses me? Bird songs...first of all, they never sound like they are written in the field guide...or at least..mabye it has to do with the fact that English is my second language and I'm reading them wrong / pronouncing them wrong...but then, how do the birds know how to pronounce their songs...and then they have so many different songs...sigh...I like donuts...especially the ones with holes in them....mmmmm....donuts... :D

I absolutely cannot "click" with the phrasing of birdsong in my guide. How do you hear "tea kettle tea kettle tea kettle"? So confusing!! I just started the Peterson's Eastern and Central Birding by Ear discs and I think they're really helping to break down something I would never be able to get on my own.

Don't even get me started on fall warblers lol.
