Dennis ,
Great shots ! How close were you to him and in what surroundings ?
Jim

Oh, oh, he hasn't responded so maybe he was TOO close!
-
or he was sleeping lol ... I don't think you can get too close to a Moose... unless it runs in front of your car....but then your the one in danger ! :D
I have those deer whistles for the truck, but every once and a while a moose will pop out of the bush on those back roads.
BTW: Great shots of the Moose Denis!

thanks everyone.
when i spotted him he ws laying down. i used a verbal cow moose call to get his attention, and then a few male grunts brought him closer.i used to hunt these eons ago, when i lived up there so know their habits very well.he still has the velvet on his antlers so the rut is not on yet, thus i was in no great danger. besides i was about 10 ft from the van. he came close enough for these pics.i,d say whitin 100 ft.i was using a 400 mm lens, and canon 7-d for these shots.

YOU DID WHAT ?!!!! lol...not sure I'd want to impersonate a love interest to call him closer...but they are fabulous pix...and he looks glorious..very healthy looking...
-
Stunning!
Wow, what does he click in
at on the scales, I wonder?
Egret
