Title: Tufted Titmouse Toronto Islands

Hi all,

I spent some time birding on the Toronto Islands. The activity was pretty slow but I managed to see the following:

-Pied-billed Grebe  1
-Double-crested Cormorant
-Great Blue Heron 1
-Mute Swan
-Canada Goose
-Mallard
-Gadwall
-American Kestrel
-Ring-billed Gull
-Chimney Swift  3
-Downy Woodpecker 1
-Northern Flicker  10
-Willow/Alder Flycatcher  1
-Red-eyed Vireo  1
-Blue Jay
-TUFTED TITMOUSE  1 near Hanlan's point
-Black-capped Chickadee
-White-breasted Nuthatch   heard only
-Brown Creeper  3
-Winter Wren   1
-Ruby-crowned Kinglet   5
-American Robin
-Swainson's Thrush   6
-Gray Catbird  7
-Cedar Waxwing
-Chestnut-sided Warbler  5
-Magnolia Warbler  3

Hi Mathieu, that's a very nice bird, the Tufted titmouse I mean. Congratulations! Do you have more detailed directions. People, me included, could be interested in looking for it tomorrow. Thanks.

Hi Andreas,

actually I only saw the birs for a minute or so. I will try to explain where I saw it. From Hanlan's Point dock follow the road for 200-250m. The bird was flew from the left and perched in a tall tree on the left side of the road (the tree was a big one with sort of flaky bark and silvery leaves, and the closest to the road at that point). The tree was approximately 50-80m before the first washroom building (the red brick one on the left). However, I was trying to put my son to sleep in the stroller, and lost sight of the bird pretty quickly, but this was the general area in which it was...
