We made the trip to Hawkcliff for the open house weekend. The day was perfect with NW winds, Sun & cloudy patches. There were clouds (kettles) of Broadwings high up all day with lower flights of Kestrels, Sharpies, B.Eagles and a variety of others. We left after 4 pm. and the tally at that time was over 13K Broadwings, 1K Sharpies and about 500 kestrels. A very busy day will lift their seasonal tally to 105K ++.
A large fallout of fall Warblers also drew attention from many with a peppering of flycatchers, nuthatches and hummers. The Monarchs were also very well represented.
