Post by: Reuven_M on October 03, 2010, 10:26:55 AM
Only put up the bird feeder last weekend, and already had at least the following visit:
1 mourning dove
2 downy woodpecker
4 chickadees
3 cardinals
3 blue jays
1 of each nuthatch
2 goldfinches
3 white-throated and 1 white-crowned sparrows
Hopefully I'll get fox sparrows and towhees stopping over like last year :D

We get Towhees in the summer...are they not that far south in their breeding range? It's the one bird I know of where both male and female are striking...

I have three feeders (seed mix, nyger, suet). Also, I have a birdbath, which only gets put away when the water starts to freeze. Over the last few days I've had:

2 Fox Sparrows
White-throated Sparrows
Juncos
1 male, 1 female Purple Finch
Goldfinches and House Finches
Chickadees
Red-breasted Nuthatch
Cardinal flock of at least 9 birds
Mourning Dove
male and female Downy Woodpeckers
1 male Hairy Woodpecker
And, 1 Cooper's Hawk!
