Title: Juncos and Pine Siskins
Post by: Bird Brain on October 06, 2010, 02:35:30 PM
Hi everyone.  This week at Lake Aquitaine, have been sighting Juncos and Pine Siskins.

Anyone else seeing these birds in their area?

Lots of Cardinals (m&f), Chickadees, Crows, Gulls, Mallards, Nuthatches, Robins, Sparrows, etc.

Lake Aquitaine:  SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Aquitaine Ave., behind the Meadowvale Community Centre.

My mom is also getting Juncos in her backyard - Mavis/Rathburn, Mississauga.

Had our first solitary Junko of the season under our feeder today here in Georgetown. Glad to see them back, even if it means winter is coming

I'm hearing Juncos in my yard but no actual sightings yet.  Also, a Red Breasted Nuthatch landed on one of my feeders while I was holding it (to fill it).  They are such brave little birds.  Also, have a Sharp Shin arriving every couple days and catching food here too...

I'd been hearing Juncos all morning, finally caught sight of 3 of them in the trees.  Downtown TO...guess winter is coming  :(

Yesterday afternoon I saw 2 of them out back.  I also have a number of Grackles and Red Wings every day.  A Red Breasted Nuthatch I've seen twice in the last week.  A couple pairs of Chickadees as well as a couple pairs of Blue Jays.  And still a Sharp Shin who's been catching some Sparrows.  I hate to say that I anticipate a Red Tail or Coopers in the next month or so to start taking on the Pigeons.
