Had an interesting sighting while cycling the waterfront trail in Mississauga yesterday. Not birds or wildlife, so I'm posting it here:

A giant puffball! I knew they could get that big, but I've never seen them myself until yesterday. The binoculars (full sized 8X40) are included for scale. This is the largest of 4 in the same small area. The smallest ones were about the size of a 5-pin bowling ball.
I didn't even notice them. It was my wife who spotted them. Even after getting the bins on this one, I thought it was probably just a piece of foam garbage.

i had the same experience recently hiking in the woods.
Found these two suckers. Never seen any this big before. The large one was just shy of being the size of a full size soccer ball.
Oh and we grilled these up and they were quite tasty. They also kept for a week and were fine.
