Is this at Fort deSoto Park by chance?  I'm just back from Florida and have pics of this guy and Reddish Egret - could be coincidence.

Hi Moira. Probably passed you on the beach at DeSoto and Col. Sam Smith Park! Do you get  out to Bolsa Chica too? Our next stop.

Never heard of Bolsa Chica - will have to check it out for next time.  Celery Fields in Sarasota is wonderful for the variety of birds.  It's just off the I75 at Fruitville Road (directions on Internet).  Saw many Roseate Spoonbills, Sandhill Cranes, several Wood Storks, Great Egrets, Little Blue Egret, Snowy Egret, Ospreys and shorebirds yet to be identified.

Moira I'll try to get to Celery Fields next year. Are you going to post some pictures of your trip? No cranes at DeSoto  :(

Yes, I have some wedding shots to finish first, but I'm anxious to get to my Florida shots.
