Title: White-winged crossbills - Mississauga
Post by: Carl-Adam on November 02, 2010, 07:45:15 PM
To my surprise I found a flock of white-winged cross bills in riverwood park. They were taking a drink along the river bank. I have not checked the finch forecast this year and was wondering whether anyone else has seen them?

Where exactly were they? I may check if they are still there tomorrow.

I spoke to someone who had a single bird singing vigorously from a treetop in the Beaches area on Monday.

Siskins, Redpolls, Crossbills... It sounds like winter is coming!

Heading from the community center, they were just off the right side the main trail (if you head downhill and the river splits at this point) at the bottom of the hill where the trail meets the river.
