Title: Red Bellied Woodpecker north of Georgetown
Post by: RKD on November 04, 2010, 10:14:00 AM
RBW has been frequenting our feeder for the past week. He seems to have become a regular for the past couple years both spring and fall. Unfortunately for us after a week or two he disappears again. Maybe this year he will stay!!!

He's been up the road here too......

Quite the distinctive call he has......I heard him before I saw him.....then he spent an hour at the feeder.

Any sign of a female at your place? I've only ever seen the male.
Oh and by the way are your blue birds still hanging around?

I only saw the male Redbellied yesterday........quite tame too.......he went about feeding while I stood less than 15 feet away.

There was a Bluebird pair checking out the box about ten days ago.......she spent some time inside looking things over.

I think they may be ready to sign the papers for spring possession.......
