Love the Tree Sparrow image, that bird has done a great job at eluding my lens the last couple weeks;-)  Shame about your mem card, did try to recover it? I had same issue a couple weeks ago and was able to get the pics back after some work. When I tried to load the images through my card reader or straight from the camera to Aperture it stated no pictures, but when I used the software that came with the camera (image browser for Canon) I was able to get the pics off the card into a folder, if that doesn't work the Mem Card company should offer a free recovery tool which you usually can get the pics back, even if you've already formatted card!  Hope that helps as I hate to hear about anybody losing images due to card failure.

Thanks Nathan, but it seems I lost them, there were only about 30 pictures on it but oh well, once you format there is nothing you can do, next time I will be sure to carry  an extra card with me! that way I can just take out the old one and slip in the new one.
The camera wouldn't let me do anything unless I formatted the card, but we tried the recovery but there was nothing there.

so....good lesson here...pack an extra card in your pocket!! :)
