I think I just missed the fly in from a night of hunting. He was very active yesterday morning. Still getting comfortable and cleaning himsefl up before a day of R&R. Taken just around 7:30am when the sun has that crazy orange glow. The colours are way off in these shots, but I kind of liked it.

Some great pics- thanks for posting.
I was there the other morning looking for this guy but he didn't wish to be found. I think I may try again on Saturday.
Cheers and Happy birding

As always you capture the activities and life of a bird. Not 'posed' shots. Colours are real and only add to the moment.

great morning colours.
did you use a tripod or did you shoot by hand?

Great catch Meghan. I made my first trip since warbler migration on Saturday afternoon. Saw red-bellied woodpecker, white and red breasted nuthatches, 1 brown creeper, and countless chickadees. I did see the GHO. I have never seen the pair in there, but the one I saw didn't look like this one - smaller, with more white on the front. He/she was sleeping - ear tufts blowing in the wind.

Nice catch!
