Great shots! I am always on Hawk watch and perhaps that is my problem why I can't find them. :?

They're all great pics, but I especially love the third.
Thanks for posting

Rob, I never plan what bird..I just go out and see what happens...for me it is like an adventure..lets see what we can see today type of thing and believe me I am rarely disappointed
I had cataract surgery last year and I'm always joking about my "bionic eye" but really it just boils down to luck and timing.

Thanks to everyone for the comments, I am partial to the 3rd picture because it is definitely unusual but for esthetics and picture framing I would choose #1 like Denis said.

Nice shots Irene. I'm the same as you - hope to find something while I'm out - unfortunately it's never a hawk :)

Thanks Moira, I'm not sure what it is with me and hawks...maybe there's a hawk magnet in me or something..seems most of the time I go out I get some kind of bird of prey its just weird..nice but weird!

The last one made me smile thanks.

I've got a Sharp Shin hitting my backyard frequently but the property is quite long and my point/shoot just can't capture him from the window. One step outside and he's gone.
I can't say that I go out with determination too often but have been hopeful on a few decent Hawk sighting/shots lately. There is a pair of Red Tails in a spot as I leave the 401 to Eglinton in Etobicoke. I see them almost daily. Often one up on a light standard near the exit, another sitting at the top of this small cedar-type tree. A few times I have seen them sitting together in this tree. But, trying to get over onto the shoulder is difficult at 2:30 in the afternoon with traffic; and the extra couple lanes that also come in from the 427 don't help. No need to cause an accident trying to snap pics of Red Tails. One just can't slow right down even though at this point the speed limit shouldn't be 100 but most are still exceeding even that.
Once again, great shots! All to be proud of.
