Title: rouge beach marsh again
Post by: gary yankech on December 05, 2010, 05:08:23 PM
I was down at Rouge Beach park leading a hike. My younger son Nathan enjoyed seeing all the birds, especially the woodpecker. Unlike a week ago, we saw a lot of different species. Here is a list of species we saw:

American Robin
American Crow
Goldfinches in their winter coat
Downy Woodpecker
Common Merganser
Mallard
Ring-billed gull
Herring gull
Bufflehead
Chipping sparrow
Blue Jay
Canada geese
Black Capped Chickadee
a probable red-tailed hawk

and a few other sparrows left unidentified

It was just starting to snow and became very windy when we were wrapping up.
